With a given name of Tarrant, is should not be difficult to locate persons with Tarrant as a last name. Janes A. Tarrant, whose ancestors originally came from Enbgland, settled in VA. He was born i Pittsvlyania County, VA Nov. 30, 1753. Was Lieutenant in militia from Henry County VA from 1778 to 1780. He then reenlisted in Nov 1781 in Captain Fenn's company in Pittsylvania County VA and fought against the Creek Indians, and left the service in January of 1782. Served in the Continental line as Captain under Washington at yourktown. He did not apply for pension as he was a man of means. I have data up to my late grand mother, Mrs. James Monroe (Jessie Tarrant Nave) Fendley, of Galveston.
