I am researching the Fenton name in the Tidewater area of Virginia. Sadly, I am only back to my great grandfather, Benjamin Walker Fenton (1833 - 1894). He was born in James City and died in York County. He had four wives (Mahaley Clark, Nancy A. Whitt, Lucy Lee Williams, and E. Alice Williams (sisters from New Kent County)). He produced 15 children. I believe that my branch, through my father, are the only surviving "Fenton's". He probably had a brother named Lee or Henry who moved to Princess Anne or Norfolk. There may have been a sister, Elizabeth.
I would love to correspond with others who may have interest in this family.
My other Virginia family names are: Yates, Avery, Holmes, Schackleford. My Vermont family names are: Holcomb and Mott.
