I am searching for the final resting place of my Grandfather:-
Harold Harris French (b.Dec1891), who left England under a cloud (1920) and was last heard of when he visited his sister Miss Olive M. French (Spinster) in Peterborough, Canada.
His Father John Webb French died July 3,1926 also in Peterborough,Canada.
Harold might have used these Aliases: Harold Webb, John Webb, John Harris, Harrold Harris, Harris French (and of course Ffrench).
I have traced our French's back to 1540 when William French was born in Mylcombe, Oxen, England. and any help beyond this would be most appreciated.
Note: Our family Name was changed from one "F" to two "Ff's" by my Grandfather around 1920. Another possible place California, USA Where Harolds Father, John Webb French and his Uncle Ebenezer had a small farm for about 3 years
