About Our Family Research
Oh Genealogy!! A job that never ends and a job with thrills around every corner. I have been doing genealogy for quite a while and have much information on my family names. If you think you might be related please feel free to email me. HAPPY HUNTING!!!
BERAN - My Beran's came from Bohemia and as of now I have not pinpointed exactly where in Bohemia they came from. My Beran's came over about 1875 and settled in St. Louis, MO area. They attended St. John Nepomuk Catholic Church which is the first Czechoslovakia church west of the Mississippi.
FILIP - I believe that my Filip's came from Bohemia or somewhere close to Poland. They came over around 1850 and came up the Mississippi River from New Orleans, LA. They also settled in the St. Louis, MO area.
FINNIGAN - Our Finnigan's came over just prior to 1850 from County Cavan in the townland of Drumcullion Ireland. They settled in Quincy, Illinois which is in Adams County. They later moved to Monroe County, MO and settled in a small town called Clapper. I have found them on the 1841 Ireland census.
GARNER - My Garner's settled in Hunnewell, MO
GRUNER - My Gruner's settled in the St. Louis, MO area. They had some family in Ripley, ILlinois.
KRAUSS - My Krauss's hail from Germany. They also settled in St. Louis, MO
MIKA - My Mika's came over in the late 1880's from Bohemia through the Baltimore, MD area and settled in the St. Louis, MO area. They also attended St. John Nepomuk Catholic Church. They lived around the Soulard area.
