The Fincke Family of Western Pennsylvania Updated July 17, 2002
About Our Family Research
My Father Chester was very excited when , at the age of about 8 I had asked about our origins , as was the homework lesson of the night . Because I liked the attention , it became part of who I am and defined the courses , such as History , which I liked as I grew up. I married a sweet girl Alma Kent born in Ohio , and knew , with a great likelihood that she was kin to Daniel Boone ,or at least some of the people who folowed him from PA to VA to KY to the Ohio Country . Her Mother Pauline Pence knew her Oral History nearly back to the Boat , and gave me a Commercial Fincke Genealogy book which got me started into the Censuses and City Directories for my own family . I have worked seriously at this since about 1988 .
