This has been an incredible journey discovering my family history and the people who defined my life. This journey has taken me about five years and alot of hard work to complete and it's not over yet. My research involved many hours in libraries and court houses throughout the states of Illinois and Indiana and also talking with relatives,those who were directly related to me and those who I met on line. The family reunions that I have enjoyed in the past were fun and very helpful. If there is anyone out there who is related to this family, I would love to talk to them and share any information. There are some members in this family tree that is not complete and I would sure love to here from you so I could fill in the gaps or correct any infomation that may be in error.

The Finney family starts with Jefery Finney and Ellen Smedly in Notinghamshire,England 1532. I am desendent from his grandso John Finney who was born around 1607 and emigrated to the United States in 1638. He was married three times and my line comes from his third marriage to Elizabeth Bailey.
