The research I have been doing has turned out to be a major job because most of the older generations are gone and most of the ones that are alive think of me as the Black sheep of the family. OK,so maybe I am but thats no reason to withhold information about the family tree. My dad passing away prompted me to try to get this put together but I didn't realize how hard it would be trying to reach relatives that are alive and not in the mood for sharing. I've come across alot of kin I didn't know that will share but that only fills in the distant branches and not the ones I really could use. I have family that won't respond to my request for info. and I know they are related just not co-operating. Should I prune off those branches or prod the people more ? Their is a slight problem with info on my fathers birth certificate that doesn't add up to the number of children we know about. While researching this stuff I think I found a pattern that would explain it. It seems that the some women on my dads line have a common occurance to letting someone else raise one or more of their children. Maybe thats why my dad's listed as the fifth child instead of the third. Makes you go Hmmmm??? Rodney Fink
