Since I am the last one left that can connect the past generations with the present and future generations of our two families, I decided that I should try to get as much information as I can down on paper. Some of it I have researched in town records and some of it is oral history that has been passed down to me by my parents and grandparents. I will admit there are some discrepancies between th two sources, but I will do the best I can to verify as much as possible or note what is hearsay.There are large families in all branches of the tree,so I think that I may have gotten myself into something a little overwhelming to say the least. I will give it my best with all the Irish perseverance that has been passed down to me by these brave and adventurous ancestors. I say that because just to think of packing up and going off to a strange country, most often alone, leaving all my loved ones behind - perhaps never to see them again- is the most daring thing one can do. Granted the situation was difficult at home, but still to go off alone took courage. I hope my children and grandchildren and more will learn to respect their ancestors for what they sacrificed to make a better life for their children and grandchildren.
