My Grandfather John (Jack) FitzGerald emigrated form Ireland around 1900. My research so far has established that he was born October 15, 1869 in Castlegregory, County Kerry, Ireland. His parents were David FitzGerald & Deborah Cournane. It is believed he had 9 siblings, Ellen b. March 27, 1864, Deborah b. April 25, 1867, Tom, Marina b. September 29, 1873, David b. November 30, 1875, George b. February 16, 1878, Hannie, Julia & Frankie. Tom, Mary, Ellen, Deborah & Hannie emigrated to America.
The Chandler's have been traced back to the second quarter of the 1700th century. Robert Chandler was born about 1745 and died at the "Cooltown" Farm Ballinskea, Rathcore, County Meath, Ireland December 24, 1825. Some of his Children emigrated to Australia and Canada. Others stayed in Ireland and the Cooltown Farm remained in the possession of the Chandler family until 1958.
Frederik Henriksen emigrated to Australia with his wife Karen (Ohlsen) between the 1870 and 1876. His children, in young adulthood emigrated to New Zealand.
Louisa Griggs, my Grandmother was born 1878 in Salisbury, Wiltshire, England.
