I am searching for infomation concerning John Wilson Dalrymple
born in Dublin, Ireland, 1797, and was married to Elizabeth Margaret Sloan also born in Dublin, date unknown, but died Dec. 14, 1894. They had 4 children: John Wilson, Jr., Jan. 26, 1830, Elizabeth (married William Allen Tharpe), Clara (married Joe Graham), and William David Howard Dalrymple who died at age 20.
John Wilson Dalrymple, Jr. married Parthenia Winham,Dec. 27, 1854. Parthenia Winham was born Dec. 30,1833 and was the daughter of Allen Winham and Parthenia Bush.
In 1858 John Wilson Dalrymple became owner of 160 acres in Bossier Parish. He and Parthenia had 3 children: George Winham Dalrymple (Jan. 12, 1856),Sarah Elizabeth Dalrymple and John Moses Dalrymple (April 20, 1861)
John Wilson Dalrymple joined the Confederate forces and was killed in one of the earliest battles, May 7, 1862, in West Virginia. His was the 8th Brigade under Major Roberdeau Wheat,in the battle of Bull Run and later in the Valley Campaign.
