Joseph Blake FLETCHER was born in Gosforth, Lancashire, England in 1811 he married Ann THOMPSON b. 1815, I have found 4 children my Joseph Blake, FLETCHER b. 1837 Sarah Ann, Mary Hannah Willis and John Joseph FLETCHER. Joseph was a School Master according the Bishop Transcript.
Joseph Blake FLETCHER b. 1837 married Johannah HAMMOND bef 1869 and they had nine children Jessie, Annie, Harry, Joseph, Ann, Sarah, Mary, Emma, James. I found all but James on the British Census for 1881 it reported they were all living in 3 Low Foulsyke - Johannah's birth place. It also reported Joseph working as a Ironstone Miner. I also located a Zechariah Hammond in the previous Household but no proof yet. The family all came to the US and located in Lackawanna County, PA. I located Johannah and son Harry (mine) on the 1900 census. I also have here death certificate and will.
Harry FLETCHER b. 4-2-1871 in Gosforth, Lancashire, England. married Anna Belle VANDERVORT the only child of William VANDERVORT and Elnora FERRIS. Harry worked in the mines and cared for his mother Johannah until her death in 1907. Harry had two children Hammond William FLETCHER and Dorothy Elnora FLETCHER. Harry died in 1927 of black lung. He was a deacon in the Baptist Church and the Commissioner of Roads for the Borough of Blakely, Winton, PA. Hammond,& Anna Belle relocated to Syracuse NY in 1929 and lived with Dorothy Elnora FLETCHER who married Ben Coalgrove of Syracuse. Anna Belle died 1-29-1947.
Hammond William FLETCHER b. 6-29-1908 in Winton, PA married Helen Ruth MATHAY of Youngstown, Ohio. Helen's parents were working on the West coast which prompted Hammond and Helen to move to Seattle, WA. They had one child - still living in 2003.
Elnora FERRIS this line goes back to Jeffrey FERRIS 1610
Elnora was the daughter of William FERRIS who was the son of James FERRIS, according to the Historical Society of Lackawanna James was the first practicing physician in the county. He had no formal education that I could find and the practice was with Herbs. James FERRIS was the son of Samuel FERRIS who father was also Samuel FERRIS. Samuel was the son of Joseph FERRIS who's father was Peter FERRIS. Peter was the son of Jeffrey FERRIS.
