Not much is known about my father, John William Fletcher b: 14August1898 in SanFrancisco CA. We need help, and alot of it to establish our tree. As our story goes: John's Mother, Margaret Lilly Kimball died in the Great Earthquake in SanFrancisco 18April1906 and his Father, George John Fletcher was to have died as a Texas Ranger after being shot in the back. John was to have live his early life in a Cathlic home for boys, he was an orphan. I have a Discharge Paper that reads: John Fletcher was Discharged from the 45th Prov Batt (6th ManchesterRegt) who was enlisted to serve in the Territorial Force of The country of Lancashire 1st day of September 1911. Another clue of his ID is dated 9 March 1918, Licence to drive a motor car. No 59624, Motor Car Act 1903, John Fletcher of 23 Rhoda St. Rochdale Road Manchester, signed by the Cheif Constable. John shows up again in Brooklyn NY, where he signed up for a Social Security number dated Dec 4 1936. Later, John married, Alma Etta Sanders Ford, b: 13September1921 Salem Oregon - mother last name maybe Copeland, first name Mary (per her app. for SSN) and Fathers name was Sanders, date of marriage and place is unknown, she is my mother, before I was born, we believe another boy was born and died shorly after birth, when and where is still unknown; I was born 23July1945 in Omaha Nebraska, shortly after that, they moved to Grand Rapids MI. They divorced between 1945 and sometime around 1953. He than remarried to Betty McNees of Michigan. Sure could use some help in finding my relatives. I'm 55 and need more info; thanks, Don Fletcher
