Ottawa Valley Trees: Roots in Ireland, Branches Beyond

Updated December 15, 2000

About Our Family Research

I am researching several Irish families who came to the Ottawa Valley, Canada beginning in the early 1800's and who were among the pioneers that worked very hard to establish a home and a country.

Families that I am working on represent all the faces of Irsh family history: "Old" pre-Celtic families and "New" plantation families, orange and green, landlords and tenants alike.

Specificaly, a few of the names that I am working on include the following: Smith, Bradley, Curry, Leach, Rowan, McDonough, Pierce, Kavagnaugh, Tennant, McKelvie, Russell, Grogan, Condon, Dennison, Marshall, Edwards, Turner, Butler, Howard, Potter, Kitley.
