FLORIO FAMILY GENWEB

Updated November 4, 2005

About Our Family Research

I listened as my grandmother, Jean <Buckner> florio, would tell me fanciful stories about my Italian ancestors for years. It always intrigued me. When she passed away in July 2000 I decided to further investige my heritage. It's been a slow process, but i have acquired some useful information and learned a lot as well. Now I am obsessed with it. I spend an estimate of 6-9 hours a day on the net hunting, searching for any tidbit of information.
My goal right now is to learn as much as I can about my Great Grandfather Carmen Florio, and his parents. He came to the United States in 1908 with his older sister Maria. I know that he lived in Carlopoli, Calabria, Italy. I also know that his dads name was Anotonio, but know little of his mother, except that her name was Angela.
International records are difficult, so any information you can contribute will be greatly appreciated.
