WEST NASSAU COUNTY GENEALOGICAL SOCIETY

Updated December 11, 2003

About Our Family Research

The West Nassau County Genealogical Society (WNGS) was Incorporated in December, 2003. At this time, they meet on the second Monday, 10:30 a. m. at the Greater West Nassau County Chamber of Commerce building in the old train depot building on Dixie Ave. in Callahan. We cordiually invite anyone interested in their faimily genealogy and history to visit our meetings.

Inside these pages, will be featured Southern family genealogies of founding Florida pioneer settlers and their descendants. These pioneers migrated mostly from North and South Carolina, Georgia and settled in northeast Florida. Many were born here as native Floridians, when Florida was a Territory, before it became a state in 1845.

Like the beautiful old Spanish moss covered liveoak trees, their roots grow deep in Florida's sands of time. Our people lived and fought through the wars with the British, French, Indians, Spanish, and the all of World Wars since, and their hardy descendants are living here, alive and well today. May God Bless America, home of the free! "In GOD We Trust!"

Be sure and check your family lines for new additions and CORRECTONS. We need all the help we can get!
