I have been involved in genealogy for about five decades. Since retiring from my profession in education, I have spent much time in study, research and travel in order to improve my family histories. My surnames are as follows: AGENBROAD, BARTH, BECKER, BIERLE, DILLER, ECKHMANN, EGGMAN, EIGENBRODE, FISCHER, FOGLE, FROCK, GEASEY, GROSSNICKLE, GRUBB, GUNDERSON, HARP, HEFFNER, HEIM,HEMPERLIN, HERING, HERTZOG,HOMRIGHAUSEN, HORN, JUNG, KAPPE, KNEBEL, KOONS, KROFF, LANG, MARKER, MATTHEWS, MELCHERS, MENTZER, MOSER, MUELLER, RATZELRAU, RAUSCH, REHLIN, RENNINGER, RITTER, RUTERSHAUSER, SCHORER, SCHREIER, SCHWEIKER,SEIB/SIPES, SEYFERT, SINGER, SIX/SIXT, SEBASTION, SPIES, STALEY, STRAND, STUDEBAKER, THEIS, TRUBIN, VONBUCHIG, WEBER, WELLER, WIEGANDT,WOLF,AND WOMELSDORF. Obviously, for most of the names there are more than one spelling. My two major surnames are FOGLE and EIGENBRODE. They emigrated from Germany in 1749 and 1748 respectively. FOGLE or VOGLER as it was written in the 1750's was from Hettenhausen, Rheinland Pfalz, Germany and his wife BARTH was from Freinsheim, Rheinland Pfalz, Germany. EIGENBRODE was from Schwarzenau, Wittgenstein, Westfalen, Germany and his father had originally lived in Freinsheim. SMALL WORLD!! EIGENBRODE'S wife, SCHORER is my biggest mystery at this date (2008). I have no data on her parents or siblings. The FOGLE AND EIGENBRODE families emigrated to Frederick County, MD during the 1750's. Many of the succeding generations remained in Frederick County and I have (May 2000) moved to Pennsylvania. I am very interested in hearing from any family history researcher who may descend from Johan Jost Eigenbrod or Andreas Vogler aka Andrew Fogle. I would also like to hear from researchers of any of the above surnames to determine whether we have a connection.
