Albert A. Drasher, 89, Briggsville, R.R. 1, Nescopeck, died Friday evening at his home. Born in Wilburton, Columbia
County, on Nov. 8, 1904, he was the son of the late Solomon and Minnie (Smith) Drasher. He had resided in Briggsville
area for the past 53 years. He graduated from Hazleton High School. He was a member of the First United Methodist
Church, Berwick. Drasher operated his family's farm since 1941. Before farming, Drasher was a plasterer and worked on
the Luzerne County and Columbia County courthouses. He was preceded in death, in addition to his parents, by his wife, the
former Catherine Schellhammer, on Nov. 29, 1991, and a sister, Verna Kisthart. Surviving are a son, A. Charles, Briggsville,
and David, Downingtown; a sister, Helen Snyder, Hazleton; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Several nieces
and nephews also survive. Graveside services will be held Monday at 11:30 am at Pine Grove Cemetery, Walnut Street,
Berwick. The Rev. Donald Steinhauer, interim pastor of St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Pond Hill, will preside. Arrangements
are under the direction of the Heller Funeral Home, Nescopeck.
