I have discovered that there is so much family history that I know nothing about. The more hours that I spend researching, the more I want to know. I used to be satisfied with the big things like towns and names. I now search for the details. Places of employment, customs, friends, church, houses, and hardships are all just as important. Over the last year of researching I feel as if I really know my ancestors. My husband can not understand why I am so interested in the past, but I believe that the past has led us to where we are right now. Our ancestors have made us who we are today.
