The Ancestor Of All Waldos In America, Cornelius, Was Born Abt 1624 In England, Where His Family Was Still Living In 1652. He Was In America As Early As 1647 Based On The Following: "At A Court Held In Salem Ye 6th Of 5th Mo. By Adjournment. Cornelius Waldo Hath Left A Fowling Piece For Further SecurityOf The 40 sh For Which He Stands Engaged For His Brother Thomas For A Fine Unto Ye Contree And Thereupon The Court Is Pleased To Forbear Leving Ye Sd Fine From Him Before Ipswich Court Next."

His Brother Thomas Returned To England And Was In Ireland When John Cogswell Visted His "Brother Waldow Friends" In 1653 And Never Returned To New England.

Cornelius Probably First Settled In Ipswich, Where He Became "John Cogswell's Farmer." He Married Hannah, Daughter Of John And Elizabeth Cogswell Of Ipswich, Before 2 Jan 1651-1652. On That Date John Cogswell Conveyed To His Son In Law A House And 49 Aces At Chebacco Falls, MA.

He Became A Large Owner Of Real Estate In Both Chemsford And Dunstable, MA. He Was Chose Decon Of Mr. Welds Church In The Latter Town. In 1690 He Recieved A Licience To Keep A Tavern And At That Time He Was Called Cornelius Waldo Sr. Of Chelmsford. From

Immigrated in 1645 and was a farmer for his father in law John Cogswell.
