I was born in Dallas, Texas Dec.24, 1927 at St. Paul Sanitarium. The nurse was Edna K. Zancek. In Los Angeles, CA. I attended 10th St. Elementary School, Commonwealth Ave., John Burroughs Jr. High, and Fairfax High. I was in WWII as a Navy Hospital Corpsman. Returned to complete my education at Los Angeles City College and LA State College. I became a teacher.
Presently I am retired in Leesburg, Fl with my wife, Carole Lynn Friedrich, nee Carole Lynn Weisman.
My mother was Isabella Beatrice Friedrich ... died July 1973. My father was Alfred Friedrich, Sr. ... died August 3, 1931. I had 4 sisters, Lillian[died August 9, 1931], Estelle[alive at 92], Feordora[died of cancer], Carolyn[died of cancer] and one brother, Victor[died of pnuemonia?].
My father was born in New York City April 7, 1888. My mother was also born in NYC July 15, 1887
They first moved to Philadephia, PA from New York City. Some children were born there.
Then they moved to Dallas, Texas with my Grandfather Isaac Friedrich to open a factory to manufactor lamp shades [While in Dallas, Texas he became a Mason in the Ionic Lodge #486 F&AM.].. went bust in 1929 ... became a traveling salesman. He died in an auto accident in Louisiana and buried in Emanuel Cemetery in Dallas, Texas. Grandfather[Isaac] went to Georgia to retirement home.
Mother moved to NYC ... met Harry Hollander ... moved to LA, California ... during World II moved from Florida back to Calif.
I'd like to find out more about my family heritage, but I've learned very little from my 92 year old surviving sister.
