I am looking to find my ancestors in Europe. I have successfully traced some parts of the family tree back to Germany but others have left me stumped...particularly the Fritchman family name, which I seem to be able to find locally ( Greater Lehigh Valley, Pennsylvania, US ) as far back as a Jacob Frutchman born in 1816...and then it stops. I'm also convinced that 'Fritchman' is an Anglicized version of a more Germanic name...possibilities include Frichtmann, Fruchtmann, Fritschmann, etc.
