I've been doing genealogy for a relatively short time. I became interested around June 1999, when I created a website for my family at MyFamily.com. The site allowed people to upload a family tree and I had no idea how to create one. So I started looking into it, went out and bought Family Tree Maker and got started with all the information I knew about my maternal grandmother's family. I always knew my grandmother's family was from Russia/Poland, but now I wanted to know more. And so my quest began...

I've driven my grandmother and several other members of my family crazy trying to gather information about my family and our history, but it's all for a good cause. :)

At the beginning of 2001, I finally got started on my maternal grandfather's family. I don't have nearly as much information about this side of the family as I have about my grandmother's family yet, but give me time... I'll get there!

My grandmother's family includes the following surnames:
PALEVSKY/PALEFSKY, LIPSCHITZ (and variants), POLLACK, SCHORNIK/SCHORNICK/SHORNICK, COOPER/KUPER/KUPPER, GORONOVICH (and variants), ROSMANN, MONTAUK, DAITCH, HECHTER, FORTUNOFF, KAHN.

My grandfather's family includes the following surnames:
EISNER, SASS, MILLER, TAUB

  Sarah Pollack Cooper immigrated in 1896 with her brother, Jacob Pollack, and two children, Irving and Dorothy. The rest her 9 children were born in America.
