About Our Family Research

I first became interested in geneology as a student in Jr. High School, it was a social studies project I managed to get all the way back to 1860 and if I remember it was about as far as any one else was able to go and I received an A on the project.

My father had always assumed that our line originated from England, and I had no reason to doubt it. Untill I started using some of the resources on the internet.

I started playing with it and suddenly I was back to the 14th century! I found approximately where my family where my family roots originated. Turns out we were from the Canton of Bern in Switzerland. I found out that we settled in the royal township of Saxe Gotha in South Carolina (now Cayce). I made a visit to the public library in Lexington and found a compilation of all Saxe Gotha original family Geneology. Still working!
