I am tracing my Frings family. My ancestor Mathias Joseph Frings was born in Prussia, educated at the University of Berlin, and immigrated to Ireland in 1839. He lived in Dublin, Ireland but also was a professor of French and German Language at Queen College, Belfast,Ireland. He married Anna Maria Fyan, from a wealthy merchant family. I know of five children, Alice Paulina, Josephine, Lena, Francis(Frank), and Robert Charles. Robert Charles was married in Manhattan, NY in 1875 to Sarah Frances Bennett. Robert was an auditor and a Real Estate investor. They had two children, Eugene and Robert Charles Jr. Eugene married Goldie Biddle from Bradford Pa. Robert C. Jr. married Anna Eliza Lennox from Oswego, NY. They lived in Ridgewood, NJ and later, on his father's farm in Wall Township, NJ. Frank married and later devorced Josie McElroy. I believe there was family in France but think that they may be from the Fyan family.
