I was born on my Grand father's farm located on Mills Rosd in Forester Twonship,Sanilac County, Deckerville, Michigan on September 16, 1935. My family lived at 14305 Knox (East Detroit)Waren, Michigan. During World War II. In 1946 we moved to a farm located at 5061 Goetze Rd. Near Deckerville, Mich.
I attended Jones School a one room country school located on Goetze Rd. untill I started High School at the newly consolidated Deckerville Community Schools. I graduated with my brother James William in June 1953. I then attended Michigan State University and studied to be a Vocational Agriculture Teacher. I graduated from MSU in June 1957 and received a Masters Degree in 1962.
I taught school for thirty years in Michigan. In 1987 I moved to Daytona Beach to manage a Time Share Resort. I then went back to teaching in Florida for ten more years. I retired from teaching in 1998.
I married Lois Marie Hooper in 1958. We have five chidren. Ten grandchildren and six great grandchildren as of 9/16/2008.
