I am a total novice as far as research, but I immediately realise that this pass-time is as good as a great book--I can't seem to put it down. I was first prompted by great stories that my father told of growing up a young boy at the time of a great war. My grandmother opened her home to officer's families as they lived in a community near Camp McCoy, WI. The tales were both sad and romantic--really a different time to grow up.
Anyway, I am left with some great old photos that date to five generations ago--much more to follow.
