I recently came across this website while looking for information regarding my Grandfather, James Elton Bolen, who was born in Oklahoma Indian Territory on March 31, 1893. Imagine my surprise to find a "Kristy" looking for this same information on HER GRANDFATHER! Here was someone whom I believe to be my cousin, that I had no idea existed. (My mother was an extremely late in life child of a large extended family, spread across the U.S., and I was not, nor am I acquainted with some of her older brothers and sisters, many of whom have passed away.) This discovery has prompted me to start my own search to learn as much as I can regarding our "Bolen" history, as my Grandfather was a full blooded Chickasaw Indian, and I would like to retrace our roots as far along the final approved rolls of the Five Civilized Tribes closed March 4, 1907, of which I and my four brothers and sisters are members of, as well as the majority of my mother's family. I also want to begin researching more about my Grandmother, Edith Clyde Hollingsworth Bolen who was from Rockwall, Texas at some point in her life, and had a younger sister named Minnie or Minerva Hollingsworth.
