I became interested in researching my wife's family history some time after we were married. Indications were that we may have been distantly related, so I began to research this with diligence. I've been on this project for about fourteen years, and I still have much data to acquire, as this has branched out into many surnames. I enjoy doing the research, and I love finding that nugget of gold, which isn't often. Having family members supply data, is the most difficult task, as I know it's a hassle for most people, as I felt that way myself, when asked for names and dates, etc, from other relatives over times past. I think they want the data available, but the busy lifestyle we have now, often precludes the effort in non-essential issues, which I fully understand. I mainly get immediate family info from our get togethers, otherwise, I use e-mails to obtain it, or go to various libraries here in our area. I have traveled to Kansas from Peoria, IL on one occasion to do research, which yeilded a good deal of history and documents I had been looking for. Family members, who are now deceased have been very helpful in providing me with the history they had, so I could make a start at this. I have included notes of interesting events of some of our ancestors, to break from the monotony of names and dates only.
