The story of my forebears was started in 2001 as a result of my family emigrating to New Zealand in 1997. The realisation that my decendants would have little or no knowledge of their South African heritage finally prompted me to begin the search. The greatest pity is that my search was left so late. Many of the older folk have already passed on, and with them the memories and detail of individuals. As time has passed, family photographs have been lost, along with birth, baptismal, marraige and death certificates. However, I have begun to get as much information on each individual as I could.
