I have decided to research our maternal grandfathers family history. Over the years I have always had an interest of my mother Barbara and my Aunt Betty's father George. He passed away when my mother was three months pregnant with me in August 1958 and I was born February 14th, 1959. I don't remember any of the Bennett family except for Uncle Charlie which was my grandfathers oldest brother. I was young and can barely remember him but remember seeing him a few times. I don't remember my mom or Aunt Betty ever mentioning anything about their father, and I guess as kids we didn't ask many questions back then either. I do remember Bruce and I talking to nanna about George years ago and we got a little information about him from her. I have spent countless hours looking up our grandfathers family history. Although it took some work and hours of research, I have enjoyed every second of it and hope each of you do the same. I hope you are able to understand and follow the history because it can become confusing. I tried to organize it in an easy to follow format. I traced our family history from 1775 to 2012. Over two hundred and thirty-seven years of the Bennett and Richard family history and seven generations.
