When did the Keenan's and Hammill's arrive in Northern New York? Michael Hammill emigrated with his wife Elizabeth and 8 children from Crosskeys, County Antrim, Ireland in 1821. His eldest daughter Elizabeth was accompanied by her husband John Keenan and their first 5 (of a subsequent 9) children. John's brother Daniel joined them and later married Michael Hammill's youngest daughter Fannie in NY.
John & Elizabeth (Hammill) Keenan's eldest daughter Elizabeth married Thomas Gaffney in 1836 in New York. Thomas was born in England in 1816 and emigrated to New York State before 1836.
