I began my research about 11 years ago. Unfortunately I was never able to meet my father's family, from Missouri. My mother's family members were becoming more a faint memory as the years went on. After a nine year hiatus from researching, the birth of my daughter, and the death of both parents, I have resumed my research.
Just recently I attended a family reunion of my family in the Flint area and was trying to obtain my family information. The greatest discovery I made after the reunion was that my father's brother and sister were still alive,and living in Missouri and Oklahoma, respectively. I have since contacted both and have obtained helpful clues, along with being able to at last "meet" and talk. I was wonderful. I also obtained names of other family member contacts to gather information.
The internet has been a tremedous help, particularly the message boards.
