Gaines-Warren Family of GA and Taylor-Willis Family of NC

This is the first formal collection of our families compiled by Addie Viola Baldwin-Gaines and Albert Lee Gaines of Mohegan Lake, New York. We started compiling this information about ten years ago and without the help of individuals such as Aunt Ethel (Warren) Best, my sister Bernice (Gaines) Mabson, Anna V. Gaines (my eldest daughter), Addie Viola(Willis - my wife and boss), Rev. Percy Willis and Mrs. Mildred (Taylor) Willis (Viola's father and mother), plus a number of the senior members of all of the families we never would have reached this milestone. The Native-American family research is currently in the hands of our daughter Anna (Gaines)Wilson. Our cousins, Leonard Howie (Grandson of Alfred Warren, son of Leonard Howie, Sr. and Helen Warren)and Mary, his wife have just come on board with oddles of photographs and interesting events. We have a long way to go and request any and all of our family members in our enlarged family to contribute to this growing effort. We have a number of audio and video taped interviews of a number of the senior members that must be re-examined for publishable information. In addition we have a fair number of photographs that we hope to upload. The success of our page depends very much on each and every member of the family. We are the agents in this effort; but, we can and will use all the help we can get.

Please contact us to add or correct any data that you know to be missing or in error as well as contribute any family history or incidents that you feel should be added to this ever growing collection of our history. We will of course attempt to verify any and all items prior to including same in this page through a verification process. We plan on designing some method to memoralize those that are working on this page and/or contributing to this project with verified information.

We are aware of a number of missing segments that we have not finished researching and therefore they are not present in this collection. If you are a member of any part of these families and can provide us with missing or correction of any information contained herein please submit it to us and we will do our best to properly integrate said information as quickly as possible.

Our thanks to everyone that has helped us in this endeavor and one day because the families are so large we will have to probably reduce the size by separating the data into 2 groups or more.
