The families descended from Thomas and Elmira Rowsom Galbreath of Marion County, AL. Descendants of John Dempsey Galbreath of Marion County, AL. Descendents of the families of William King Galbreath of Salty Community near Thorndale, TX. Descendents of Russell Hawkins Galbreath of Milam County near Rockdale, TX. The descendents of the Galbreath family in Marion County, Al have a decoration day at the Galbreath Cemetery in Marion County, the last Sunday of April each spring. The descendents of William King and Nancy Rolston Galbreath hold an annual reunion on the 3rd Saturday of each year at the VFW Hall in Thorndale, TX. Russel Hawkins and Sallie McGowen were married Oct 23, 1879 in Milam County. They had 4 children: Daniel Thomas Galbreath --married Laura Kathryn Hairston William Joseph Galbreath --married Estelle Rodgers George Washington Galbreath --married Anna Frances Hart Nellie Carmen Galbreath --married Joseph Jackson Jenkins William King Galbreath, brother of Russel Hawkins, married Nancy Mercia Rolston in 1878. They are buried at Salty Cemetery. Russel and Sallie are buried in Old Salem Cemetery near Rockdale. Their sisters, Harriet Letha married M.T.Alford and lived at Tanglewood on the Lee County line and Rosannah Malissa married T.A. Rolston and lived in Mason County, TX.
