The Gallineaus of Canada and New York

Updated December 29, 2005

About Our Family Research

I've been researching my Gallineau family name for several years now, and have several hundred American Gallineaus in my Reunion file. As is the case with most families today, they are spead out across the US, and I've not met many of them although about 90% of them I have found to be in our bloodlines. I have traced my GGGrandfather, Nelson, back to being born in Montreal, Canada in 1814. I am particularly interested in finding out who his parents were, and when they or his ancestors first came to Canada from France. There are also, American Indian Gallineau(x)s from the S. Dakota area, (many with an(x) at the end) that I believe are in our family lines. If anyone has knowledge in these two areas please contact me. Will be happy to exchange family data.
