My great grandfather Jose Gallegos originally came from Argentina; he came across from south america and stayed in Vancouver in the late 1800's. He lived in Vancouver for a short while and moved on to Vancouver Island, he met and married and Mary Ahtahm in 1898 and moved to Sliammon BC, in the district of Powell River. We have been desperately searching for our ancestors and other living relatives, so if you know of Jose, please e-mail me at qwastanukt2@shaw.ca My name is Karen, great granddaughter of Old Joe, as he was known in our village. He lived a long and happy life and had many children and grandchildren and many many more great grandchildren. He deceased in the 1970's but he left a big family behind. We would love to hear from you if you are related to our great grandfather. My dad, Ernie Galligos told me that there was a river named after the family - hence Rio Gallegos.
