Research into my family tree started with an interest in finding out more about my paternal grand-father,who died on the first day of the battle of the Somme, France in WW1. His name was JOHN YOUNG & he was an Accrington Pal, one of the many young men who joined the army with groups of their friends from the small cotton towns in the north of England.
Other names connected with my father's family tree are: WILKINSON in Accrington & Newchurch in Pendle [Goldshaw Booth], Lancs. LATHAM in Accrington & Liverpool, Lancs. SIMPSON in Accrington & Foulridge. SMITH in Newchurch in Pendle, Lancs. BAINES in Accrington, Lancs.
Names I am researching on my mother's side are: COX, & WARREN in Hertfordshire, England. RULE in Radwinter, Essex & Hertfordshire, England. PERCIVAL, & RICHARDSON in Radwinter, Essex, England
I have learnt alot about WW1 & quite alot about Lancashire, but still very little about my grand-father or his family. I do know he had several brothers & sisters. They were: Maggie,Benjamin,David,Thomas,Wallace,Martha Ann,& Elizabeth. Please see the family tree for parents etc. I would be interested to hear from anyone who thinks they may be connected to these names & are interested in Family History.
These pages are not yet complete, but I am adding a little from time to time.
