Maternal Surnames:

Fose/Fosé/Foss/Foos - traced back to Alsace-Lorraine, France (a predominantly German section of France)
Rosentreter/Rosentretor - traced back to Stettin/Stetein Germany (now Berlin, Germany)
Zastrow/Zastrowe - traced back to Bremen, Germany
Holland (Pennsylvania and ?)

Many of our German ancestors and their families lived in Prussia and Pomerania, which is an area that now belongs to Poland.

Since immigrating to America, members of our family have lived and/or settled in various different places. Some of those places include, Peoria Illinois, Pellam, Welland-Ontario Canada, areas in Pennsylvania (Dutch?), as well as various locations in and around western NY:The town of Wheatfield AKA: North Tonawanda, NY - Niagara Falls, NY - St. Johnsburg, NY - Rochester, NY and Lockport, NY.
