I have details of a John gemmell from Aryshire Scotland born 1810
married Turiwheke from rangiahua and a member of TeKooti HauHau group.Apparently John gemmell was killed by the HauHau don't have any information of the reasons but he's buried in KoteMaori newzealand..
Also James Gemmell from Moor Farm Ayrshire Scotland, married janet nee [Clement].Also searching information of diamond Jack gemmell,when he came over to newzealand our maori ancesters named him tiamana,which was a treasured name,because he had a kind heart,another name for him was scotch jack Gemmell this where the maori Gemmells got the Gemmell name from one source any way.
