My son is 3 weeks old. He was born in Kirkland, US. I was born in Ixelles, Belgium. My father was born in Narbonnes, France. My son's great grand-father was born in Belgium. His father was most likely born somewhere in Belgium as well. The rest is, well ... history. I'm curious. The web is a fantastic way to research our roots. Our immediate family includes last names such as Piro, Maroye, Michaux, Bruyere, De Waegenaere. I have some old photographs. My Grand-father, Georges Geurts, his wife Marcelle, and their four sons, Jacques, Gilbert, Pierre, and Jean spent many years in the Belgian Congo. My mother's father was born in 1903. He would have been 100-years old next year.
