This family has been traced back to the turn of the 16th cenurty. The family in America dates back to the sons of Baron Matthias I Von Seitler/Seidler who was a nobelman of royal lineage, he resided on his huge estate at Frankfort-on-the Maine in the 18th century. he sent his 2 sons, Matthias II and Abraham to the American settlment due to religious differences. The sons are thought to have settled in the Baltimore Maryland area. The family ended up in the Meadville PA area in the late 1700's and some still live there today in 2001. They are a direct line from Matthias I. The last male in line died in 1999, His name was Robert Sidler (Baron Robert von Seitler). His sister are still alive. Baroneses Carolyn, Willa and Geniveve.
The family has been traced back to Jacob Seidler, but no birth date or death info has been found. Matthias I is the great
grandson of Jacob. This is a very old family with a rich history I am sure, I just need to uncover it. I do have my family tree from Jacob through to my daughter. It spans over 400 years and 13 gererations.
