About Our Family Research

I have been trying to find some lost links in my family research. I have not had any luck with my paternal grandfather's mother, Lydia McLean or my maternal grandmother's father, LaFayette Kinkle. Although there are many McLeans I cannot tell which, if any, are related. I have found no Kinkles whatsoever. I have been able to trace some ancestors back to the American Revolution, and have several female relatives who belonged to DAR. My mother's line goes back to the 1500's although it becomes very cloudy after about 1600 or so. I recently was fortunate in finding a cousin (many times removed) who has more information about my father's side of the family. I have many 2nd and 3rd cousins on my mother's side of the family still living but they have little interest in pursuing any family genealogy. I got what information I have from a Jones relative who published her findings. Unfortunately, she is long gone. My husband's family had a reunion last summer in Idaho and my daughter was able to attend . My husband, Francis Alfred Gigger died in 1985 and I have since remarried although I have legally kept his name.
