My branch of the South Carolina Gilstraps currrently reside in Taylors, S.C. My fathers name is Clarence Kenneth Gilstrap and my grandfather was John Luther Gilstrap of Pickens, S.C. Although some of my cousins have done a very basic search of our family history, I plan to begin a very detailed search that will allow my children to know where thier oldest relatives came from. I have learned so far that all Gilstraps in the U.S. today are decendents of 4 brothers who came to the states from scotland or maybe Ireland. any in formation that anyone could send me would be very much appreciated.
