My great-great grandfather, ALBERT BURNETT ANZ (Sr.), was born in Germany (Poland?) on April 3, 1843. The first place of residence that I find for him is in Eagle Pass, Maverick County, Texas, where my great grandfather, Albert Burnett Anz (Jr.), was born on February 14, 1875. Albert's older brother, Peter Anz, may have been born in San Antonio, Bexar County, Texas. Albert B. Anz (Sr.) and most of his family eventually settled in and around San Antonio, Bexar County, Texas.

We do not know if Albert B. Anz (Sr.) came over with any other relatives. There are quite a few Anz's in and around the Clifton, Bosque County, Texas, area but we have not been able to tie the two families together.

I have an ANZ Family Bible that states that the father of Albert Burnett Anz (Sr.) was named Almer, mother unknown.

The following surnames are relevant to our Anz family: Bommer, Brandt, Pollock, Kendall, Klaus, Ridd, Stowe.
