I have been researching the Gilbert Lineage in Chester County for several years and have made good progress to date. The court house and archives have been a great help as well as the local cemetaries.
My family has a reunion every year in Hibernia Park at Pavilion #5 during the summer or fall.
My direct bloodline has been traced back to my GGG Granddad Benjamin Gilbert born abt 1796. His wife was Catherine Wenger. Their children were: Rachel, Isaac, Benjamin, Eliza, Mifflin and Edwin.
To my knowledge their families lived in Valley Twp and Sadsbury Twp.. Mifflin and Edwin both were in the Civil War.
