My grandfather was born 30th Aug 1849 in Kilskyre Co. Meath Ireland. He became Headmaster of Moyaugher National School Athboy about 1870. He died in 1905.
I believe his parents were Thomas Gilsenan (24th July 1808) and Mary Farrelly (9th March 1801). His grandparents would appear to have been Michael Gilsenan and Mary Connell.
My grandfather's siblings were Michael 1st Aug. 1847. Anne 29th Aug. 1852. Brigid 29th July 1854.
My grandfather's sister Anne would appear to have eloped to the US in her teenage years.
Matthew Gilsenan (g.father) married Mary Sherlock (born in 1856)on 27th Jan. 1882. I don't know the number of Mary's siblings, but there was Matt (Matha) Christopher and perhaps some others. Christopher (Chris) fled Ireland to the US for political reasons when he was about 16 years old c.1880.
