I am researching the Gill, Sowerby and (on my wife's side) the Williams family.
The Gill family is originaly from the Richmond/Bedale area of N.Yorkshire. Fortunately I have just received the Gill family Bible with lots of birthdates of the eleven children born to John William and Jane Mary (nee Burn) Gill. There is one name in the Bible that had us guessing - Susanna Gill's name is on the inside page of the Bible and is dated 1873 but it turned out to be an Aunt who married my grandfathers brother.
The Sowerby family lived in Bishop Auckland and Darlington area of County Durham,England, Joseph Sowerby being born 1865. He was born in Selah which is near Renwick in Cumberland, England.
The Williams family are from the Middlesbrough, Redcar, N.Yorks area of England but my wifes grandfather, Thomas Holder Williams was born in West Bromwich, Staffordshire, England.
