I am searching the Starnes side of my family. I Know that
they came to MS in the early part of the 19th century. They came from NC. My GGGrandfather was Daniel Monroe Starnes. My GGGrandmother was Bettie E. Ludwick. She also came from NC to MS. I don't know either of their parents names. Daniel and Bettie were married in Lafayette Co. MS in June of 1853.Their eldest child was John Wesley Starnes.,b.1856. Daniel also had a brother named John Wesley. Daniel was born in 1830 and died in 1899. Bettie was born in 1839 and died in 1922. They along with some of their children, are buried at Shiloh Cemetery, just outside of Oxford, MS. At the time of their passing the area was known as Denmark, MS.
