Hi there,
My name is Paul de Vallenger Gilbert and as you'll spot, I reside in Christchurch, New Zealand.
In case you were wondering, I’m John’s son.
The family name, de Vallenger, appears to have arrived in New Zealand with Harry de Vallenger Gilbert.
Rather intriguingly, for all its overt French origins, de Vallenger, now seems isolated to New Zealand (mostly Wellington) rather than Paris.
By placing this enquiry 'out there' on the internet, I am hoping to contact all the de Vallengers, who inhabit this green blue planet.
If google is correct, there’s not a lot, we are rare species, but I’m doing my bit to preserve this increasing unique family name.
My eldest son is Christopher de Vallenger Gilbert.
