Charles H. Gilpin was born in St. Joseph, Mo. and he and Shirley married in Cailfornia.We have History of the Gilpins starting with Richard de Gulpyn in England in 1176 up to John Dickman Gilpin in 1799. and also a copy of a newspaper clipping sometime after 1885 about the Gilpin family in Chester, PA and their role in PA history. It says original copy in possession of Marie Gilpin Reifer. Some distant relative sent this all around any Gilpins he knew of and we got a copy.The Gilpins we are attached to are Missouri Gilpins.However now there are a few from that branch here in California.
